The National Universities Commission has closed
down an illegal university named Borough College,
London situated in Igboho, Oke Ogun area of Oyo
state.
According to the chairman committee on closure of
illegal universities in Nigeria,
Prof. Adebisi Balogun, the institution has six
faculties and student strength of 200 before the
visit of the committee to the institution.
It was learnt that the institution was established by
one prof. Ogunleye in 2014.
He actually wrote to National Universities Commission(NUC) and requested for a form to
establish an institution but he never followed up
with the remaining process before operating the
university.
Balogun advised parents to always verify the
authenticity of an institution before enrolling their
wards stressing the proliferation of illegal
universities in the country.
